Norwegian astrophysicist Pål Brekke to give free public lecture at the Canada Science and Technology Museum

OTTAWA, November 12, 2013 – The Royal Norwegian Embassy, together with the Canada Science and Technology Museum presents a public astronomy lecture at the Canada Science and Technology Museum.

Renowned astrophysicist Pål Brekke is giving a public lecture about one of the most beautiful phenomena in the world: northern lights.

Through a multimedia presentation, Pål Brekke will take the audience on the human journey towards understanding northern lights, from the myths that constituted the first explanations to the current scientific knowledge. The lecturer, who recently published a book on this topic with award-winning photographer Fredrik Broms, will also share simple tips to help would-be photographers capture the beauty of northern lights.

You can also learn more about northern lights through a new photo exhibition on now display at the Museum.
